There may be some spoilers, very few …

Shortly after Batman Vs Superman, the world is still mourning the death of Superman. The film begins with Batman (Ben Affleck) protecting Gotham from possible villains as usual. But beings called “parademones” begin to emerge. Such beings are, curiously, fueled by fear and indicate that an even greater threat is about to come to Earth.

After a small sample of the abilities of the incredible Diana (Gal Gadot), the film takes us to Temiscera, the land of the Amazons, that is on alert after strange tremors of the Box Materna stored in a cave in the island. After a major quake, the villain in the movie, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds), appears and steals the box, announcing his plan to destroy the world and revenge for his last defeat, thousands of years ago.

The first fight scene, still in Temiscera, is intense. The Amazons send out a bonfire so that Diana, in the world of humans, would learn of the attack. Seeking to help her people and protect the world, Diana seeks out Bruce Wayne to fight the approaching enemy. With the two most relevant heroes (in the plot) already stabilized in the plot and with their missions established, begins a journey of the hero to Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

The two, probably due to the little screen time, are “initiated” as any beginning hero, being briefly: The Hero in the Common World -> Call to Adventure -> Refusal to Call -> Meeting with the Mentor -> Testing, Allies and Enemies -> Trial -> Reward.

Although I consider the hero’s journey a bit of a cliché, I think it is important for the good insertion of Flash and Cyborg in the plot, among the most famous heroes. The trend now is that, in the next films, they are more stabilized in history.

As for Aquaman (Jason Momoa), his integration into the League also features traits of the hero’s journey, but in a much more subtle way. Unlike Victor, who is despised and unable to help the group, Aquaman is strong and fearless, with a unique and very characteristic personality of a protagonist, already giving signs that must rock in his solo film in 2018. A single fragility was presented in Aquaman’s character, which is the fact that he was abandoned by his mother as a baby. I think quoting this detail in Justice League gives us a little spoiler of what will be covered in his solo movie.

I give a highlight to the opening scene of the film, where Superman appears filmed by a camera cell phone, meeting the current trends of lives. In addition, the scene collaborates a lot to give the mood of mourning to the full length, due to the contrast of colors, being clear images in the footage of the Superman still alive, and very dark and somber in most of the film and mainly in scenes of fights.

Overall, Justice League has come to show that after Wonder Woman, DC has a lot of potential for success, with films far better than past failures. The film is very good, very interesting, it deserves to be watched. And if you still go watch, do not forget the post-credits scenes.
